In the face of a compact apartment, the solution is simple: built-in and well-constructed furniture that doubles up its purpose and stows efficiently.
The added vision is to create a spatial purpose that serves exclusively. With an interior space evidently influenced by the exterior environment, the approach presented itself in the ticks of the clock. Clear as day, do more with little. That began the exploration of varying layers of transparency to serve the practical purpose of shade at the day’s harshest hours and allowing the traversing of light to create fluid motions through the sliding doors. The result: Its owners returning to their onsen haven.
